Welcome to the Parish Church of St Martin of Tours West Coker
Most of St Martin’s, as you see it today is from the Victorian rebuild in 1862/1864, but one or two areas date from the 14th or 15th century, The Lady Chapel, which occupies the north east corner and the stair turret for the tower. This tower also contains 2 very rare lancet windows glazed with horn.
We have a service at 11am on all Sundays, but on the first Sunday of the month there is an additional 8am Prayer Book Holy Communion. The only Sunday when there is no service is on a fifth Sunday of the month when the service is at 10am and could be in one of the other churches in the Benefice. Apart from the 8am service all services are modern Common Worship and if it is not a Holy Communion service they are led by members of the laity. St Martin’s is open for visitors or private prayer every day.
